Zack Larez

artist, photographer, actor, director

I originally came to Los Angeles to be an actor. To make money for rent and classes, I learned how to be a script supervisor on movie sets. That's how I learned the craft of filmmaking. Originally an artist in college, I applied my art skills to my movie making knowledge and became a storyboard artist which is my main career today. To escape isolation and continue meeting people, I got into photography. Knowing how to make images and tell stories, I'm ready to direct.

Zack of All Trades

I've worked with images a lot. I was obsessed with my own image during my acting career. I was in charge of checking images for mistakes as a script supervisor, scrutinizing every shot that went into movie cameras. I now draw storyboards for commercials, music videos and movies. Indeed, I've made a career on knowing how an image is supposed to look. Now I make them. I approach photographs like I would approach making an illustration. I can see clearly in my head how I want it to look and I manipulate my lights and lenses in order to get it. I do my own photo editing and I "shoot for the edit". It doesn't matter what you need me to photograph. I'm an expert at getting the images I want.
